Factory New Bern



In 1991, BSH launched its dishwasher business in North America, importing dishwashers made in Germany. In March 1997, it started production of its European designed dishwashers at the New Bern, North Carolina site. Since 1999, BSH has also been producing cooktops and ventilation hoods at New Bern. In December 2001 BSH announced it was to expand its activities in North America, and started building two new factories. This has meant that since the end of 2003 it has been able to add freestanding ranges, washing machines and laundry dryers to the list of products it manufactures in the US.

Then, in 2004 BSH expanded the dishwashing factory by an additional 100,000 square feet and in 2008 announced the production of an entirely new dishwasher line called Ascenta.
